A new program is being implemented by ARC Programs in collaboration with MCFD. We are currently recruiting several staff for the following position, in both Kelowna and Penticton.
Children and Youth with Special Needs (and their families) Behavioural Consultants.
The CYSN Behavioural Consultants will provide in-home comprehensive assessment, consultation, intervention and planning for families and other involved service providers with children/youth ages 0-18 who are diagnosed on the autism spectrum, with FASD, with complex developmental behavioural conditions, or other special needs.
Candidates for this position will possess sufficient training and experience to perform all responsibilities of the job description. The qualifications of the position are consistent with those of a senior practitioner, consisting of a minimum of one of the following:
- Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis
- BA- Psych and related experience
- Applied Behavioural Analysis training and related experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- BA - CYC and related experience.
- BSW and related experience.
- Diploma CYC or Rehabilitation Practitioner with ABA coursework and related experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders
And, a minimum of 5 years Related Experience in services with CYSN clients, such as:
- CYSN Behavioural Consultant or Intervention Services
- Child, youth and family services program (with CYSN clients)
- Child and Youth Mental Health program
Previous training in Applied Behavioural Analysis is preferred, and may be required during employment, as available. The candidate must possess a valid B.C. driver’s license and provide a sound personal vehicle for business use. The candidate must also have current First Aid Certification (S.O.F.O. or equivalent). The candidate will be expected to achieve and maintain certification in non-violent crisis intervention (CPI or equivalent).

Would you like to help a vulnerable youth?
ARC Programs is accepting applications from families and individuals to provide care for a young lady with behavioral challenges, with the intent to support her over the long term and on into her independence.
The Caregivers will provide supervision, support and individualized care for this one youth, as a member of a collaborative case management team. Caregivers will be provided excellent compensation, with ongoing training, consultation, scheduled respite and extensive support services for both the child and Caregiver. There is also an opportunity to provide this service as a Live-in Caregiver, with accommodations provided. In addition, Live-in care could be provided with another couple, or individual, who would share the care of this youth, working a rotation of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, or some other combination. The Caregivers will be part of a dynamic community-based agency, with extensive experience supporting Caregivers to work with high-risk youth in care of the Ministry for Children and Family Development.
