ARC Programs is looking for a School-Based Addiction Counsellor. The Changes School-based Addiction Counsellor will provide effective assessment, counseling, education, support, and treatment services for youth demonstrating difficulties in relation to substance misuse within the school system. The counselor will support referred youth to reduce the harm associated with substance misuse, and develop healthy lifestyles which do not include reliance on substance use. The cousellor will work in Middle Schools and High Schools within School District #23 catchment area. The position requires a minimum of four years combined advanced education (Child and Youth Care Degree or BSW, or related education) and experience working with high risk youth; preferably in a substance-abuse counselling program. This is a full-time position, working 35-40 hrs per week {this will vary over the year}.
