Supervised Access & Supported Connections

Program Overview

The Supervised Access and Supported Connections programs provide two program streams in collaboration with Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD) social workers, families and caregivers to reduce the effects of trauma on the child by facilitating healthy connections between family members and helping to maintain significant relationships in the child’s life.

The Supervised Access program stream supports children in care to maintain familial contact in a healthy and safe environment, providing supervision and oversight of visits that are part of a child’s care plan.

The Supported Connections program stream addresses barriers to reunification and provides practical parenting support and education to using a coaching model to strengthen parental capacity through specific parenting skills and techniques.
