The Changes Youth Justice program is an outpatient treatment service provided to youth 12-18 years old who have been convicted of a criminal offence, and who experience difficulties with their substance use. The counsellor provides a continuum of intervention services that encourage referred youth to evaluate their substance use/misuse, examine the impact it has on their lives and support them to make changes accordingly. The program provides education on drugs and alcohol and help youth develop harm reduction strategies and relapse prevention plans. Referred youth are further supported to improve peer and family relationships.
