Community Living Home Share Program

Program Overview

Home Share is a type of Community Living British Columbia (CLBC) funded home support that supports adults to live as fully and independently as possible in their home. Home Share is a supported living option in which an adult qualifying through the Developmental Disability or Personalized Supports Initiative streams, shares a home with a Home Share provider, who also provides ongoing individualized support.

Many Home Share providers agree that this type of support is a rewarding lifestyle. Individuals tend to choose this option because it provides an ideal balance of support and independence. Home Sharing is person-centred in that it allows individuals to select a Home Share provider and home environment that meets their unique goals and preferences. Home Share providers offer a living space and support services to foster community inclusion for participants. arc programs will support both the home share provider and the individual in the home and coordinate services.
